SC Department of Revenue charges Anderson County man with tax evasion

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC (FOX Carolina) – The South Carolina Department of Revenue (SCDOR) arrested an Anderson County man on Tuesday for tax evasion.

SCDOR reports that 45-year-old Yagneshkumar Patel, operator of Yadhi Groups, LLC and Yadhi Spirits, LLC, in Anderson County, was arrested Tuesday on six counts of tax evasion.

The SCDOR warrants state that Patel reported taxable sales of more than $770,000 between 2016 and July 2021. However, after an investigation, it was determined that his actual taxable sales were more than $4.2 million, meaning he evaded at least $229,000 in sales tax, the warrants state.

Patel is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center.

SCDOR asks anyone who suspects a person or business of committing a sales tax offense to contact SCDOR’s Criminal Investigation Division and submit a Tax Violation Complaint Form (CID-27) to [email protected].
