Community mourns after girl dies from ATV accident in Wayne County

WAYNE COUNTY, Mississippi (WDAM) – Community members and family are mourning the loss of a young girl involved in an off-road vehicle accident in Wayne County.

On Saturday, June 1, Wayne County Sheriff Jerry Mosely confirmed that 11-year-old Natalie Touchstone died as a result of her accident on Wednesday, May 26.

Sharla Hodge, principal of Glade Elementary School, where Touchstone attended, spoke about how the child’s death impacts her family and the community as a whole.

“The school community is devastated by the loss of this beautiful, vibrant young lady and we stand united by her family and will support her in the days ahead,” Hodge said.

Mosely had previously reported that Touchstone was one of two young girls involved in the collision between a car and the ATV they were riding. Two other people were also reportedly injured.
