Rape: 20 years in prison, Rs 50,000 fine for raping and blackmailing a boy | Kanpur News

Kanpur: On a complaint by a boy from Bidhnu, police investigated and arrested his neighbour for repeatedly sedating and raping him and making videos of the same to blackmail him. Additional Special Judge Pocso Act/Additional Sessions Judge of Court Number 22, Kanpur Nagar, Yogesh Kumar-IInd, convicted the neighbour here under the Pocso Act on Thursday and sentenced him to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs.50,000. The presiding judge also observed that if the accused fails to pay the fine, he will have to go to jail for another year. The time spent in jail by the accused during the trial will be counted towards the jail term. The fine of Rs.50,000, if encashed, will be awarded to the survivor as compensation. According to Special Public Prosecutor Bhawana Gupta, the complainant was the survivor and had filed a complaint against the accused and three others, all residents of Bidhnu police station area. The complainant alleged that the accused Aman Soni was his neighbour and had made obscene videos by sedating him with drugs before having unnatural sex with him and repeatedly shooting videos of the act. When he complained to the accused’s parents about the act, they not only beat him but also threatened him with dire consequences. They even snatched his money and gold chain and had fraudulently taken a loan in his name, the complainant added. The complaint was addressed to SP Kanpur Outer. The police filed a chargesheet against Aman Soni for violations under sections 377/328/323/504/506 IPC and 3/4 Pocso Act, the Special Public Prosecutor said.
