Woman killed in Atlanta shooting while child in back seat identified – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — A young woman shot to death in a car with her toddler in the backseat has been identified.

The Fulton County medical examiner said the victim was Ne’Jah Cox, 21, of Atlanta.

Early Saturday morning, police responded to the area near Hollywood Road and Center Street in northwest Atlanta.

Channel 2’s Bryan Mims learned that the victim was a passenger in the car and that her young child, a toddler, was in the back seat during the shooting.

Police said that as the car passed an apartment complex on Center Street, three men approached on foot and opened fire, killing Cox.

TRENDING STORIES:

A lieutenant in the homicide unit said Channel 2 Action News that the shooting specifically targeted Cox and that part of the incident on Center Street was captured on surveillance footage from a nearby store.

Police are still investigating the incident. They did not release the suspects or reveal their motive.
