All lanes have reopened following the closure of I-75

UPDATE 10:00 p.m.: All lanes have now reopened.

SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The Florida Highway Patrol and emergency responders continue to monitor a brush fire near the lanes of Interstate 75, south of Laurel Road.

State troopers have closed southbound Interstate 75 and detoured traffic at Laurel Road (Exit 195) and are in the process of closing northbound Interstate 75 at Jacaranda Boulevard (Exit 193).

The southbound lanes of Interstate 75 remain open south of Jacaranda Boulevard (Exit 193).

The northbound lanes of Interstate 75 remain open north of Laurel Road (Exit 195).

US 41 remains open as an alternate route.
