NRG Stadium roof repairs to be completed by end of September

NRG Park officials said repairs to the facility’s roof will be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.

As FOX 26 reported, NRG Stadium suffered damage to two roof panels as a result of Hurricane Beryl.

FOX 26 Houston is now on the FOX LOCAL app available via Apple TV, Amazon FireTV, Roku, Google Android TV, Samsung TV and Vizio!

Authorities said one of the damaged roof panels is expected to be repaired before the Texans’ home season opener against the Chicago Bears on Sept. 15.

The second damaged roof panel is expected to be fully repaired before the Texans’ home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 29.

In a statement, NRG Park said: “Visitor safety remains our top priority. We appreciate the patience and support of our visitors as we work diligently to restore the stadium roof to full operational capacity. As visitors plan their visit to NRG Stadium, we encourage them to stay informed of the weather forecast and to prepare and dress accordingly, whether rain, heat or other conditions. Until the roof is fully repaired, whether it is open or closed, portions of the stadium floor and seating will be exposed to the elements.”
