Weather warning day – Wednesday

Weather warning day – Wednesday

WICHITA, Kansas (KWCH) – After some very heavy rain Monday night and early Tuesday, thunderstorms will be much weaker Tuesday night. And we’re gearing up for a weather advisory day for central and south central Kansas on Wednesday as we’ll have an afternoon of extreme heat.

Nearly all of Tuesday night’s storms will occur northwest of a line from Scott City to Hill City and move into Nebraska by Wednesday morning. Sunshine will push temperatures into the high 30s, but high humidity across central and eastern Kansas will make it feel like nearly 40 degrees. Scattered storms are on the way for Wednesday night, with a chance nearly anywhere in the state. Central and eastern Kansas will see temperatures a little warmer, but many areas can expect more rain.

Thursday will not be quite as hot, with highs around 35 degrees, but it will be quite humid and will certainly feel hotter than the thermometers indicate.

Expect highs of 35 to 35 degrees by the end of the week.
