Driver dies after crashing into bayou in southwest Houston

A driver died early Sunday morning after crashing his vehicle into a bayou in southwest Houston. The incident happened around 3:52 a.m. in the 7900 block of Harwin.

Houston police said the vehicle was traveling east on Harwin when it struck a concrete retaining wall and a fence before plunging into the bayou. The force of the crash ejected the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are investigating the crash, and no other vehicles are involved. The driver’s name has not been released at this time.
