Details: Miami’s famous museum is hitting the road and arriving in Atlanta this weekend for a pop-up gallery. The immersive experience is designed like a sneaker boutique and explores the rich history of collaboration between graffiti artists and sneaker culture. Saturday evening, Atlanta artist Dr. Dax will host a panel discussion on both topics. The gift shop has plenty of souvenirs to take home, and the pop-up will also feature a free sneaker customization bar; reserve a free place here.

Colorful Flying Butterflies Festival
When: Saturday June 1 – Sunday June 2

Cost: $25, children 2 and under free
Details: Celebrate all things butterfly with this annual outdoor festival. The biggest draw is the butterfly encounter, where you can walk through hundreds of live butterflies fluttering about, some of them landing on your arms, hands or even your head! There are also free nectar sticks to entice a closer encounter. A native plant sale offers the opportunity to collect native plants optimized to attract and maintain populations of native butterflies, as well as other pollinators. Plus, lots of fun activities for kids, butterfly-themed games and shows will delight everyone.

Atlanta Fringe Festival
When: June 3-9

Cost: Ticketed shows between $15 and $25, plus free events
Details: Atlanta’s original fringe theater festival returns with a jam-packed schedule of performances and experiences. Enjoy dance, theater, music, comedy and more at three theaters around Atlanta, plus free kids’ shows, a street festival and fringe audio programming available online. On Monday, June 3, enjoy a comedic reinterpretation of a classic film, titled “Five-Fifths of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” which is also a benefit show to raise funds for local Atlanta artists , organized over 7 Stages in Little Five Points. Don’t know which shows to watch? On Wednesday, June 5, you can attend a free preview at 7 Stages, where the 28 performance groups will offer a taste of the shows to come.

Sesame Street the Musical
When: June 4-August 5

Cost: $59 to $92, with VIP options available; the ticket includes entry to the museum
Details: Kids of all ages (and their adults) will find something to love in this live musical comedy featuring all of their favorite Sesame Street characters. Join Grover, Cookie Monster, Elmo and more as they sing classic songs from Sesame Street, plus new songs from award-winning songwriters. This show debuted as a hit Off-Broadway series and will be performed at the Center for Puppetry Arts, home to Sesame Street creator Jim Henson’s largest collection of puppets, for the next two months. Tickets include a visit to the museum, which is full of puppets.

Tour of Les Misérables Broadway
When: June 4-9

Cost: $34 to $249+
Details: The Tony Award-winning musical takes the stage in Atlanta for a six-day run at the Fox Theater. Hailed as “Les Mis of the 21st century,” this production stars Nick Cartell as the fugitive Jean Valjean, opposite the infamous Inspector Javert, played by Truman Boyd. Expect all the epic scale, impressive vocal rhythms and numerous French flags for which this musical has become legendary. Buy your tickets quickly: some shows may sell out.
