SALT LAKE CITY – A man was arrested Sunday after police said he randomly attacked people at a Catholic church in Salt Lake City.

According to police, Grillone entered the Madeleine Cathedral during mass. He brandished a bamboo sword and attacked several people – “without provocation or any reason for doing so.”

According to police, he struck two people with the sword and punched a third person, breaking the victim’s glasses.

Grillone also allegedly resisted arrest and had to be restrained with a “WRAP” device.
