1 injured in shooting near Brookhaven intersection, police say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Brookhaven police say a person was shot near a Brookhaven intersection Sunday afternoon.

Police said they responded around 5:30 p.m. to a reported shooting in the area of ​​Johnson Ferry Road and Ashford Dunwoody Road, where there is a busy shopping center.

They said responding officers found a person believed to have been involved in the shooting and learned that a shooting victim had already been transported to an area hospital.

“Officers located one of the parties ‘in the area’ and the other party had already been transported to an area hospital due to an apparent gunshot wound,” a police spokesperson said of Brookhaven in a press release.

The condition of the person shot appears to be “critical but stable,” the spokesperson said.
