One dead in semi-truck accident in Mountrail County

MOUNTRAIL COUNTY, N.D. (KXNET) — A crash in Mountrail County Tuesday morning left one person dead and another uninjured.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:25 a.m., a Volvo truck pulling a trailer driven by a 61-year-old man from Williston was traveling east on Highway 23

A GMC driven by a 30-year-old New Town man was traveling west on Highway 23 at the same time, crossed the center line and struck the Volvo truck head-on.

Both vehicles ended up in the ditch and the GMC driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Volvo truck driver was uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
