I-285 exit in Sandy Springs reopens after flooding closed all lanes

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The eastbound exit from I-285 to Georgia 400 in Sandy Springs is open again after flooding closed all lanes Tuesday night, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

The Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency also reported flooding on I-285 East between Roswell Road and Georgia 400. The agency said it has received reports of cars stuck in water at the I-285 East exit at Georgia 400.

A GDOT camera showed crews trying to access a car stuck on the flooded exit.

Sandy Springs firefighters said water flooded the highway due to clogged drains. Authorities also said four trees fell in the city, but there were no injuries.

A flash flood warning has been issued until 10 p.m. for Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties.
