Former NASA engineer recorded sexual encounters without women’s consent, search warrant says

New details are coming to light about a former NASA engineer accused of sexual harassment. 37-year-old Eric Sim is now accused of recording his sexual encounters without his consent.

According to a Harris County search warrant, Eric Sim recorded intimate encounters without informing the women. Sim is also accused of sexually assaulting several women.

During the first search in February, investigators seized several electronic devices belonging to Sim. This week, Houston police returned to Sim’s home for another search after finding videos of his sexual encounters. The search warrant revealed evidence on the devices, including a folder titled “Sex Videos.”

According to the warrant, the women in the videos did not appear to know they were being recorded. The documents also claim that some cameras appeared to be hidden inside black-framed glasses.

“This affidavit shows that we are as close to consensual sex as we can get,” said Neal Davis, Eric Sim’s defense attorney.

Sim’s lawyer insists that Sim did not commit the crimes he is accused of.

“We have to remember that it is a misdemeanor to record someone without their consent. If that is what actually happened, then that is not what he is being charged with,” Davis said. “He has been branded a serial rapist. That is a much more serious charge.”

Davis said Eric Sim appears in court every month. He said if the case goes to trial, it could take until the fall.
