Two children injured in shooting in Buffalo Friday evening

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. during an outdoor gathering, Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said in a statement.

Both children were taken to the hospital, DeGeorge said, and one of them was seriously injured. DeGeorge did not give their ages but described them as “young children.”
