Police pursuit leads to arrest of suspected drug dealer near Houston | Upper Gulf Coast

Houston, TX – Deputies from Agent Mark Herman’s office arrested a suspected drug dealer after a brief chase on June 5, 2024.

The pursuit began when officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the 9800 block of Fallbrook Drive. The driver, identified as Darrius McDowell, refused to stop and led officers on a brief pursuit. During the pursuit, McDowell threw narcotics out of the vehicle before losing control and hitting a curb, rendering his vehicle inoperable.

Upon his arrest, McDowell was found in possession of 5.2 grams of seized.

“Darrius McDowell was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of eluding in a motor vehicle and possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute. His total bond was set at $30,000 per the 184th District Court,” said Officer Mark Herman.
