Houston Texans Star Tank Dell Details Offseason Filming in Florida

The Houston Texans have dominated the offseason storylines. Most of the news concerned the team’s approach to roster building, bringing in winning talent around second-year star quarterback CJ Stroud. They also extended the contract of wide receiver Nico Collins. The draft was also strong for Houston.

In between all of this, however, star wide receiver Tank Dell made headlines when he was injured in a shooting in Florida, leaving him in the hospital. On the Million Dollar Worth of Game podcast, Dell details the shooting, offering an explanation of the situation.

“I went back to see my mom, I wasn’t even planning on going back and going to the little pool party or something, but my boy found out I was at home and I contacted. It was like arriving at the party,” Dell explained. “They told me there would be security checks, people would be checked at the door, stuff like that, so I said cool, it’s a good atmosphere and there were a lot of people that I knew in there, so it was cool And then it came out of nowhere It went south out of nowhere.

As the Texans star wide receiver alludes to in the podcast, he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He has since made a full recovery and took the field with the team on May 21, as OTAs began to take place.

“I thought I removed myself from the situation after the little altercation where they were fighting, but I put myself in the middle of two people, and it got crazy,” Dell continued.

As unfortunate as the situation is, it’s comforting to know that Dell has since entered the field. Head coach DeMeco Ryans also had the opportunity to speak about Dell’s presence on the field, as he did at the start of the OTAs.

“Happy to have Tank back. He went through a very tragic situation,” Ryans said. “We’re just happy he’s here, happy he’s back and can do what he loves to do and that’s play football. It’s fun to see him running around, being the same player as ‘before, playing and being a dynamic player for us Everyone is excited to see Tank.

Dell enters his second season in the NFL after an impressive rookie campaign. Alongside Stroud and a star-studded offense, he is ready to impress and help the team compete at a high level.
