Feeling like a sauna in Houston

Wednesday forecast:

It was so hot yesterday morning that Houston set morning temperature records. If we don’t drop below 78° today, we will set even warmer low temperature records. This afternoon we climb into the lower 90s with a sauna feeling. The heat index will be around 100°, making for a very miserable day.

Fresh front Thursday evening/Friday morning:

Our next cool front is expected Thursday night into Friday morning. This front represents a serious meteorological threat to our northern cities. The chance of rain or storms in Houston is 20%. This front will reduce humidity and bring slightly lower temperatures. You will notice it especially in the morning.

Mother’s Day weekend:

Big changes to our Mother’s Day forecast. Saturday is going to be great! But Sunday’s storms could arrive first thing in the morning. There is also a risk of collapse with more storms in the afternoon.

10-day forecast:

The only thing we will be watching next week is the possibility of a stuck trough of low pressure near Southeast Texas. This would be similar to the weather pattern we had last week. It’s too far away to know if the low is holding so for the moment I’m going there with a risk of rain from Monday to Thursday.
