Man arrested after escaping police custody Monday – NBC10 Philadelphia

U.S. Marshals have arrested a man who has been on the run since escaping from police custody in East Germantown Monday morning, officials said.

Officials said the task force team found him at a condo complex on West Girard Avenue.

New video shared on social media by the U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia showed 32-year-old Nafiysh Knox-Schenck moments after marshals caught him in Northern Liberties on Wednesday.

According to police, he escaped from officers after he was handcuffed following a traffic stop along the block of West Collum Street.

Officials said Knox-Schenck had a warrant for his arrest for firearms violations and that a gun was recovered from his vehicle during the morning traffic stop.

However, police said that after being handcuffed and placed in the back of a patrol car, Knox-Schenck was able to escape when an unknown person opened the back door of the vehicle.

Knox-Schenck fled on foot eastbound on Collum Street. Officers said officers chased him but were unable to arrest him.
