Police search for suspect after man found dead in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) — Tuscaloosa police are investigating a possible murder that occurred outside a local Alcoholics Anonymous building.

On Tuesday, officers responded to 2025 Jack Warner Parkway for reports of a body being found. The victim has been identified as Russell Thomas Andrews, 62, and investigators suspect foul play was involved in his death.

According to TPD, investigators are looking for a person of interest who was last seen Monday around 10 p.m.

The only known name for the subject so far is “JP” and his last name may be “Patrick”. He is described as a white man in his 50s with dark hair and eyes. He is 5’11 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds.

He wears glasses and often a soft hat. He may be missing toes on one or both feet and limping. This individual is reportedly homeless and has been in the Tuscaloosa area for several weeks.
