4 teenagers arrested in Lakeland murder case

LAKELAND, Ga. (WALB) – According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), four suspects have been arrested in connection with the investigation into a murder that occurred in Lakeland in early June.

On June 5, Timothy Hunt, 27, of Naylor, was shot and killed in a home on Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. in Lakeland, according to the GBI.

On Wednesday, June 26, the arrest of four suspects, all teenagers, was announced.

Three of the suspects, aged 17, 16 and 16, were charged with:

  • Complicity in murder
  • Four counts of involvement in the crime of grievous bodily harm
  • Participants in the crime of armed robbery
  • Violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act

Another 16-year-old was also charged with

  • Participants in the crime of grievous bodily harm
  • Participants in the crime of armed robbery
  • Violations of the Georgia Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act
