UNTIL FRIDAY:

Watch for some lingering areas of flood water on some roadways in Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky this afternoon. A countywide flood warning is in effect for Simpson and Allen counties in Kentucky until 4:15 p.m. as some roads remain impassable. Remember to always turn around and take a different route if you encounter a road covered in water. Recent flood areas will begin to recede this afternoon.

Meanwhile, rivers will continue to swell due to inflow of water from tributaries. The Cumberland River near Nashville is expected to reach the stage of minor flooding tomorrow morning. The peak will be reached around midday tomorrow. There is currently severe flooding on the Red River at Port Royal (along the Montgomery/Robertson county line) and is expected to continue.

The afternoon looks sunny, windy and warm. Humidity will drop slightly as we get closer to sunset. High, 83.

It will be mild tomorrow morning. Low, 60.

Tomorrow afternoon looks partly cloudy, windy and much cooler. High, 70. Probability of scatter, 20%. The best chance for a passing shower or shower will be east of I-24 on Friday.

THIS WEEKEND:

Overall, Saturday will be very pleasant. There is the slightest chance of another shower or rain shower – in Nashville the chance is 10-20%. Expect a cool start in the low 50s. High, 76.
