Buffalo Wild Wings’ All-You-Can-Eat Wings Deal Is a Big Hit

Buffalo Wild Wings’ All-You-Can-Eat Wings Deal Is a Big Hit

UNDATED (WKRC) – Buffalo Wild Wings’ new all-you-can-eat chicken wing promotion has already been a big hit, and trends show there’s more to come.

The deal started March 13 and offers customers an unlimited supply of boneless wings and fries for just $19.99. The promotion is available to customers who dine-in on Mondays and Wednesdays for a limited time only.

According to Placer.ai, a company that tracks foot traffic at businesses, the promotion increased consumer traffic by up to 74%. Prior to the deal, the channel experienced negative traffic on Mondays and Wednesdays, but the last three Mondays in May had traffic peaks that were 30%, 40%, and 56% higher than the average for each respective day. Wednesdays saw a similar trend, with the last three Wednesdays of the month seeing increases of 50.5%, 74% and 37% compared to averages.

RJ Hottovy, head of analytics research for Placer.ai, said: “It wouldn’t be a surprise to see other channels introduce similar limited-time promotions in the near future. » According to Placer.ai, the bottomless wing deal is one of the most effective at increasing foot traffic it has seen in recent years.

Red Lobster attempted a similar promotion in 2023, offering Endless Shrimp for a similar price of $20. The biggest difference between the shrimp and wings is the limited nature of the offering, whereas the endless shrimp was a permanent item on the menu. The operation was successful in terms of generating consumer traffic to their stores, but proved to be a financial failure. Red Lobster reported an $11 million loss in the third quarter, largely attributed to the all-you-can-eat offering. This devastating blow would have been a major step towards the chain’s decision to file for bankruptcy.

However, Buffalo Wild Wings appears to be taking this warning in jest and posted “please don’t put us out of business” to promote the offer.

While the benefits for restaurant traffic are clear, it is unclear how profitable the deal is actually and whether or not it will have a negative effect on the B-Dubs’ bottom line, as with Red Lobster.

In the terms of the deal, the company states “sharing is prohibited and will void the offer” and that the offer is limited to one per person per order. Additionally, leftover food cannot be taken “to go”.
