Megan Thee Stallion ‘extremely disappointed’ to postpone Atlanta concert after water pipe break – 95.5 WSB

ATLANTA — Megan Thee Stallion’s concert Friday in Atlanta was canceled due to a broken water main.

The artist posted the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Friday shortly before 6 p.m. Doors were scheduled to open at 7 p.m. before the 8 p.m. concert.

“Unfortunately, we will have to postpone tonight’s show at State Farm Arena due to the massive water main break the city of Atlanta is experiencing,” she posted.

The show will be postponed until Sunday, according to the artist.

She also said she had “a huge surprise” for fans attending Friday night’s show.

“I’m extremely disappointed because I had a huge surprise for the Hotties tonight, but we will follow the mayor’s protocol,” she continued on X.

The rapper also has a show scheduled for Saturday. She says that for now, she plans to move forward with this show.

State Farm Arena also released a statement that said:

Due to unfortunate water main breaks in the city today, Megan Thee Stallion’s show scheduled for tonight at State Farm Arena has been postponed to Sunday, June 2nd. Tickets purchased for tonight’s show will automatically be honored for Sunday.

Megan Thee Stallion’s concert for Saturday, June 1 is currently scheduled. State Farm Arena and Live Nation are in communication with the City of Atlanta and Department of Watershed Management offices. We will keep fans informed with any updates on this weekend’s performances. We encourage customers to check State Farm Arena’s social media pages for the most up-to-date information.

Water service was cut across much of Atlanta after a main outage Friday morning.

Officials with Atlanta Watershed Management did not provide a timeline for when repairs will be completed and water service restored.
