A 17-year-old boy faces numerous charges and three other people – two men aged 24 and 19 and a boy aged 17 – are facing charges of alleged gang sexual assault during a burglary at a home in St . Catharines wanted.

Niagara Regional Police allege the violence occurred when four men burst into a home near Welland Ave. on Sept. 15. and Lake St. broke in and sexually assaulted a woman.

“Before leaving, the men stole several items from the woman’s home,” police alleged in a news release, saying the woman suffered “non-life-threatening physical injuries.”

Police said officers executed search warrants at homes in Niagara Falls and St. Catharines on Friday and arrested a suspect.

A 17-year-old Niagara Falls boy faces charges including burglary; theft under $5,000; gang sexual assault; sexual assault with a firearm; sexual assault causing bodily harm; Mischief under $5,000; theft under $5,000; use of a firearm during the commission of a crime; and distributing an intimate image without consent.

The defendant cannot be identified under juvenile criminal law.

Police said the manhunt for the three other suspects wanted on similar charges was ongoing.

One suspect, a 17-year-old boy from St. Catharines, cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

However, the other two suspects are men and investigators have released images of them in the hope the public can help track them down.

They are identified as Kieren Ennis, 24, of Atwood North Perth, and Larry Smith, 19, of St. Catharines.

“This appears to be a targeted event,” police said. “Investigators have reason to believe there may be witnesses who may have further information regarding this incident.”
