A big name is coming to SRP Park this weekend.

Former Atlanta Braves pitcher Ian Anderson is set to begin a rehab stint with the Augusta GreenJackets. He is expected to start Sunday’s 1:35 p.m. game against the Charleston RiverDogs.

The third overall pick in the 2016 MLB Draft, Anderson has 52 career major league starts. He is 22-13 on the mound with a 3.97 ERA in his career and helped the Braves win the 2021 World Series title against the Houston Astros. His last appearance in the major leagues was in 2022.

Anderson made just one appearance with Triple-A Gwinnett in 2023 and spent more than a year recovering from a torn ACL. Before joining the GreenJackets, he pitched five innings in two appearances with the Braves’ affiliate, the Florida Complex League, over the past two weeks.

Tickets for Sunday’s game can be purchased on the GreenJackets website.
