Rockets reportedly acquire multiple picks from Nets, continuing Kevin Durant trade

The NBA offseason is heating up.

Just minutes after the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks reached a shocking blockbuster deal for star forward Mikal Bridges, the Nets have reached a deal involving multiple draft picks with the Houston Rockets, according to an ESPN report .

Houston acquired a 2027 first-round pick from the Nets (originally acquired by Brooklyn from Phoenix as part of the Kevin Durant trade) in exchange for Brooklyn’s original 2026 pick. The Rockets also acquired the right to trading the team’s 2025 first-rounder (from Oklahoma City) for a 2025 first-rounder from the Suns.

Additionally, the Rockets acquired the trade rights to a 2029 first-round pick from either Dallas or Phoenix, as well as the top pick from either team in the same year (depending on where both teams stand). in the standings this season).

According to ESPN, the Rockets made the deal with the pursuit of several big stars in mind, including Durant himself.

Houston is reportedly willing to send a huge amount of picks, including some of those they just acquired from Durant’s former team, to Phoenix in exchange for the 35-year-old superstar. But Phoenix has supported all potential discussions with Durant, according to ESPN, expressing its intention to move back the trio of Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal next season.

But Houston may have too much potential to pass up, and if Phoenix doesn’t bite, it appears the Rockets will remain aggressively searching for a superstar who can help them win now.
