Man injured after train-pedestrian incident in Trempealeau County

TREMPEALEAU TOWNSHIP, Wis. (WEAU) – A man is injured after a train-pedestrian incident in Trempealeau County.

According to a news release from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, on May 13, 2024, at 3:15 p.m., authorities received a report from the BNSF Division Trainmaster that one of their trains struck a pedestrian in the town of Trempealeau.

The news release said a man was walking between the tracks near mile marker 321.

According to the news release, the man was found in bushes around mile marker 321. The man suffered a fracture to his left arm. The man was taken by Tri-State Ambulance to Mayo La Crosse with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 74-year-old man from the town of Trempealeau was reported missing by his family at 2:53 p.m., the release said.
