Knife attacker arrested after cutting and robbing train passenger in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) – One person is in custody after clipping and robbing a passenger on a CTA Orange Line train in the McKinley Park neighborhood early Saturday morning.

The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 3500 block of South Archer Avenue.

Chicago police said the victim, an 18-year-old man, was on the train when the robber, armed with a knife, approached him and demanded his belongings. When the victim refused, the robber stabbed him in the forehead and then took his belongings before fleeing the scene.

The victim was treated at the scene by the Chicago Fire Department but refused any further medical treatment.

The police were able to arrest the robber a short distance away without incident and were still in possession of the victim’s property.

The incident occurred a few days after a man was injured in a Shooting at a CTA Orange Line station in the Bridgeport district.

The detectives from Area 1 investigated.
