Atlanta star Tommie Lee arrested for assault and battery in Miami Beach

The TV personality was arrested in the early hours of Monday, June 10, outside Club LIV in Miami.

Love and hip-hop: Atlanta Star Tommie Lee was charged with battery on Monday, June 10, in Miami, Florida, outside the popular Club LIV, NBC 6, Local 10 and 7 News Miami report.

Lee (born Atasha Jefferson) was arrested at the 4441 Collins Ave. LIV location after 2 a.m., according to an arrest report, according to Local 10.

The old Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta The 39-year-old actress allegedly approached a man she says she’s never met and tried to give him something. But after he declined the offer, Jefferson allegedly became aggressive, punching him in the face, insulting him and threatening to have him killed, according to Local 10.

After the altercation, the victim was restrained until authorities arrived on scene. Police later viewed surveillance footage of the incident, which corroborated the victim’s statement.

Jefferson was later arrested for assault and battery and taken to Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without incident.

During his term on Love and hip-hop: Atlanta in 2016, she revealed she had been arrested nearly 30 times.

Prior to her arrest Monday, Jefferson had recently been charged in January 2019 with several counts, including aggravated assault, cruelty to children, battery, aggravated harassment and disrupting a public school, according to AJC.com for allegedly pushing her child’s head into a metal locker and dragging her by her hair.

In October 2018, she was first arrested and charged with aggravated assault, battery and child cruelty after an incident at her child’s middle school, according to TMZ. Hours after this arrest, she was arrested a second time after allegedly making contact with her daughter; she was arrested at her home and charged with aggravated stalking and obstructing an officer, WSB-TV Atlanta reported.

Representatives for the Miami Police Department and Miami Dade County Jail did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for more information Monday.
