GBI: Former WRPD officer arrested, charged with sexual assault and violation of oath of office – 41NBC News

A former Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) officer has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse and violation of his oath of office.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A former Warner Robins Police Department (WRPD) officer has been arrested and charged with sexual assault and violation of his oath of office.

According to a press release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), the WRPD asked the GBI in July to investigate allegations of misconduct by a WRPD officer.

On July 18, a complaint was filed with WRPD alleging that Ray Dexter Ewings, 30, of Warner Robins, inappropriately sexually touched an individual while on duty and in the performance of his official capacity as a WRPD officer.

On Friday, September 13, agents obtained arrest warrants for Ewings, according to the GBI. He was booked into the Houston County Jail.

According to the GBI, Ewings was fired from WRPD on July 30 following an internal WRPD investigation.
