Buffalo Garden Walk Begins Saturday

BUFFALO, NY — With more than 300 gardens to explore, Garden Walk Buffalo is America’s largest garden walk.

Catherine Carr, a Gardens Buffalo Niagara board member, and her husband began participating in the Garden Walk when they moved to Buffalo in 2016.

Since then, they have tried to make the gardens a popular stopover for pollinators.

The garden walk is free and a backpack will be distributed at the West Side Community Center.

“We started giving away giveaways a few years ago at the East Side Garden Walk. Now we’re offering one at the Garden Walk Buffalo event, and it’s going to be a glorious weekend,” Carr said.

Gardeners like Carr are trying to attract families to their gardens. This year, Lincoln Garden has something for kids.

“In this garden at Irving Place, we have a scavenger hunt for the kids and if they answer all the questions, they can get a little glass rock or Allentown fairies,” Carr said.
