Pop Smoke’s alleged killer speaks about the incident in a new interview

Blockstar, one of Pop Smoke’s alleged killers, has spoken about the rapper’s 2020 murder in a new interview with No Jumper.

On July 4, the suspect, who was released on bail and was a minor at the time of the murder, expressed no remorse for his actions. Pop Smoke was killed during a burglary in Los Angeles.

“I’m not sorry for anything,” Blockstar explained. “It never should have happened, but I’m not sorry. If I could go back, I would go back. But I’m not sorry. People die every day. (Pop Smoke) rapped about it. About everything. So I’m not sorry. I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But I don’t regret anything.”

He continued: “When I was growing up, my people, my family, told me, ‘You have no regrets. Whatever you did, you did it for a reason and you own it.'”

Blockstar was one of four defendants charged with the murder of Pop Smoke. Three of the defendants were minors at the time of the crime.

They reached a plea agreement and were sentenced as juveniles. Corey Walker, the only defendant tried as an adult, is awaiting trial.

Pop Smoke was shot during a robbery at a mansion in the Hollywood Hills. Blockstar would not reveal whether he or another defendant was the shooter, but he insisted the murder was not staged.

“It was a robbery,” said Blockstar. “Nobody sent us. Nobody has done anything like that. This is all false information.”

He claimed that he and his co-defendants had no intention of killing Pop Smoke. Blockstar admitted that he did not believe anyone would be home when they attacked the mansion.

“It wasn’t intended for anyone to get hurt,” he said. “We were just kids being kids – neighborhood kids. There was too much going on, too much going on. It wasn’t intended.”

Blockstar spent several years in prison and felt that his sentence was too lenient, but he did not comment on what a more appropriate punishment would have been.
