Buffalo Bills sponsor new chapter of National Gay Flag Football League

A chapter of the National Gay Flag Football League (NGFFL) is coming to Buffalo. The Buffalo Bills announced their sponsorship of an NGFFL chapter in Buffalo on Tuesday, joining the New York Giants, New York Jets, New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, Arizona Cardinals , Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders and Seattle Seahawks to show their support for inclusivity. .

“We are excited to join the NFL and other league clubs in supporting the NGFFL,” said Michelle Roberts, Buffalo Bills vice president of community impact. “Through our sponsorship, we look forward to expanding NGFFL’s impact in our community.”

NGFFL: What you need to know

Launched in 2002, the NGFFL is a non-profit sports organization whose mission is to “build an inclusive and empowering community by celebrating diversity, athletics and sportsmanship” and to “provide a safe space for individuals of all walks of life to share their passion for flag football, promoting equality on and off the field,” according to the league’s website.

Buffalo will become the new headquarters of the NGFFL chapter

Buffalo joins 27 other cities and 4,000 players across the country. The New York Gay Football League, which brings together players from New York and surrounding areas, is currently the largest gay flag football league in the country, the league’s website says, with approximately 250 participants and 20 teams each season.
