METRO to Resume Park & Ride Service Tuesday After Houston Storm Damage

HOUSTON – METRO says it will resume Park & Ride services Tuesday, two weeks after a powerful storm caused damage in the Houston area.

The agency says there will be some detours along roads in downtown, which is still recovering from storm damage.

“Cleanup efforts continue in the central business district following severe weather that damaged thousands of windows in high-rise buildings, causing dangerous debris to fall onto roads and sidewalks,” METRO said. “Customers traveling to the area should allow additional travel time as street closures may lengthen journeys and a number of bus stops may not be accessible. Some local bus lines and METROLift routes may also be affected by street closures. Service supervisors will be on hand to answer your questions.

Along with METRO Park & Ride service, the US 290 HOV/HOT expressway will also reopen Tuesday.

For additional questions, you can call or text METRO customer service at 713-635-4000 for assistance.
