BOSTON — A man was found dead in a towed car in Allston Friday morning, police said.

At 8:22 a.m., police received a call from a local towing company on Emery Road reporting a man dead in a car.

The death does not appear suspicious at this time, a spokesman for Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said in an email early Friday afternoon.

“We are aware of this incident and deeply regret it. Our thoughts are with the affected family and friends,” a TJX spokesperson said in a statement. “We will cooperate fully with law enforcement and respectfully defer any further comment.”

The vehicle was reportedly towed from the TJ Maxx on Harvard Street in Brookline, authorities said.

The death is still under investigation.
