Man dies in early morning collision on Kincaid Road

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – One man died and three others were injured in a two-vehicle crash in the Sand Lake area early Tuesday morning, according to Anchorage Police.

In a press release, APD wrote that they were called around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday to a collision between a truck and an SUV on Kincaid Road between Westpark Drive and Park West Circle.

According to police, a Toyota pickup truck crossed the center line and collided with a Hyundai SUV, resulting in the death of the pickup driver. All three other people involved in the crash – including the only passenger in the truck – survived the crash and were taken to the hospital.

Police, who have not charged anyone in the crash, closed the road for hours while they investigated the scene. In an update at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, police said the road had reopened.

The cause of the collision is not yet known to the police.
