Man allegedly sexually abused eight-year-old

A 70-year-old man was arrested on Saturday on a warrant after an 8-year-old girl told authorities he had performed oral sex on her.

According to a report from the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, the girl told authorities in early May that Tommy Chavez committed the act in February or March of this year at a home in North Mockingbird and only stopped when a vehicle arrived in front of the residence.

Chavez was arrested on suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of a child. He remained in the Ector County Jail on Monday on $50,000 bail.
