Grand Island man arrested for attacking two police officers, police said

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska (KSNB) – Grand Island Police said two officers were injured in an altercation with a man over the weekend.

Police responded to the 100 block of East 3rd Street on Friday following a disturbance call. Upon arrival, officers attempted to contact a Grand Island man, 31-year-old Joshua Rodenbaugh.

According to police, Rodenbaugh became uncooperative and began resisting and fighting with officers. When officers attempted to handcuff him, he allegedly became even more aggressive. According to GIPD, Rodenbaugh bit one officer and another was injured in the knee during the altercation.

Rodenbaugh was charged with, among other things, first- and third-degree assault on a police officer.
