Columbia University graduate’s rape remark against Palestinian student sparks outrage

A Columbia University graduate was filmed last week making “rape calls” against a pro-Palestinian student protester. Irish Tudud hoped the protester she filmed would be “raped.” The incident outside the Alfred Lerner sparked a huge online uproar on Saturday. Several students at the university have come forward to demand action against the woman, who was seen making offensive comments loudly and without any fear.

Irish Turtud is reportedly a graduate of Columbia University.

Irish Tudud hoped the protester who recorded her video would be “raped.” The incident outside Alfred Lerner on Saturday sparked a huge uproar online. Several students at the university have come forward to demand action against the woman who was seen making offensive comments loudly and without any fear.

This happened as tent camps were being set up again on the campus of Columbia University, according to a report by The Nation. An alumni reunion was also being held over the weekend. The newspaper identified Tudud as saying, “I hope you get raped.” The report added that the former student at an Ivy League university approached the makeshift camp site on the university’s Butler Lawn.

Tudtud, despite openly telling her to “dock,” tried to cover her ID when a protester from the tent city approached her and accused the pro-Palestinian students of being “rapists.” Another graduate, Lisa Factora-Borchers, wrote an open letter opposing the calls for sexual violence.

“Remember that our common motherland exports women as its most important asset to keep the economy running,” the Filipina wrote, advising Turtud against her act.

Another Palestinian-American graduate of Columbia University wrote on X: “A woman named Irish Tudtud yelled at Palestinian students, ‘You hope to get raped’ and referred to Palestinian students as ‘rapists.’ Columbia University Public Security did not intervene.”

Officers from the New York Police Department (NYPD) raided Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall last month and arrested 109 people for failing to clear their camp on campus.
