Whiteland police chase after teen driver on I-65 ends near Edinburgh

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – A Whiteland police chase that spanned several towns along I-65 Wednesday night ended with the arrest of a 16-year-old from Indianapolis.

Officers with the Whiteland Police Department arrested a 16-year-old boy from Indy on Wednesday after a chase that went through towns including Whiteland, Franklin, Amity, Edinburgh and Taylorsville in what police believe was a joyride.

Police confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 that stop bars were eventually deployed on Interstate 65 northbound near Edinburgh to end the pursuit

Two 16-year-olds, both from Indy, were found in the car. The passenger was released, while the driver was arrested and taken to the Johnson County Juvenile Detention Center.
