Jamestown arrested for harassment and assault on police officer

(WJET/WFXP) – Jamestown Police responded to a home in east Jamestown, NY, where a man threatened to kill a victim and smashed his window.

When officers arrived, the man, a 39-year-old from Jamestown, fled the scene but was quickly found.


According to police, the man began running as officers attempted to arrest him and punched one of the officers in the face.

The officer suffered bruises in the incident but did not require medical attention.

The man was tasered, taken into custody and taken to Jamestown Jail, where he awaits arraignment.

The 39-year-old man is accused of criminal contempt, damage to property, resisting state authority, harassment and assault on a police officer.
