Franklin resident Louis Marano killed in crash on I-495

Shortly before noon on Friday, May 17, 2024, Massachusetts State Troopers responded to a two-vehicle rollover crash on southbound Route 495 in Milford that resulted in one fatality.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 2022 Lexus SUV was traveling southbound on Route 495. For reasons still under investigation, the Lexus came into contact with a 2015 Nissan Juke. The Lexus then left the road and hit a tree, causing the SUV to roll over.

The driver of the Lexus suffered serious injuries and was transported to a facility in Worcester. Emergency responders determined that a passenger in the Lexus, Louis Marano, 90, of Franklin, died at the scene. The driver of the Nissan Juke was also taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police Troop C, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Division and the State Police Crime Scene Services Division.
