Buffalo Bills earn ‘B’ grade from CBS Sports

Buffalo Bills earn ‘B’ grade from CBS Sports

The Buffalo Bills did not earn the highest grades from CBS Sports for their 2024 NFL Draft haul. A lot of that comes from their first selection, Keon Coleman.

Overall, Buffalo received a final grade of “B” following its 10 selections made in this year’s draft. A total of 19 other teams rated higher than the Bills in the media’s evaluation.

Although Coleman has received rave reviews locally, the feeling isn’t similar here.

Second-round selection of safety Cole Bishop has received high praise. However, Coleman, Buffalo’s previous second-round pick at 33rd overall, has been called into question.

Here’s the full breakdown from CBS Sports:

Coleman didn’t do it for me in the movie. For his size and athletic profile – and he’s not stiff, but doesn’t get open consistently – I expected him to be more dominant in traffic tracking the ball deep. Buffalo then responded with an exceptional selection – Bishop in the second round. He’s going to be a star with Sean McDermott.

Carter is a high-level runner, and the Bills had a sneaky need at defensive tackle because Ed Oliver was previously the only interior runner on the roster. I would have gone many other directions if I were Davis. After that, Van-Pran Granger can be a high-caliber starter over time, and Ulofoshio is a smooth operator, another with a high floor. Solomon is the exact type of smaller, more flexible outside rusher this roster desperately needs, and Hardy is extremely talented as a cornerback. My disagreement with the first selection brings this rating down a bit, and I’m surprised they didn’t do double duty at the receiver position.
