Bills sign rookie linebacker Shayne Simon

The Bills announced the signing of undrafted linebacker Shayne Simon from Pittsburgh.

Simon participated in Buffalo’s rookie minicamp in May as a tryout player. He will wear number 49.

Simon played in 12 games at middle linebacker for Pittsburgh last season. He compiled 48 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks. He played in a total of 25 games over two seasons in Pittsburgh.

From 2018 to 2021, he played in 32 games for Notre Dame.

Simon, 24, is from West Orange, New Jersey. He earned a degree in finance from Notre Dame and enrolled in Pitt’s Katz Graduate School of Business to earn a master’s degree in supply chain management.

In a corresponding move, the Bills placed Tommy Doyle on the injured/waived list.
