Bridgeton man convicted Friday of sexually abusing a minor

A 39-year-old Bridgeton man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday for sexually abusing a girl over the course of 10 years, the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office said.

After his release, Juan Hernandez-Antonio will have to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be on probation for life, the prosecutor’s office said in a press release.

Hernandez-Antonio pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual assault on February 12.

On April 24, 2022, he was charged with several counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child. The victim was under 13 years old when the abuse began, prosecutors said.
