Kickoff time set for Houston’s season opener

The University of Houston football season opener against UNLV on Aug. 31 at TDECU Stadium will tip off at 6 p.m. and be broadcast by FS1, the Big 12 announced.

Thursday’s announcement included four other night games: 6:45 p.m. Sept. 7 at Oklahoma (SEC Network); 7 p.m. for the Bayou Bucket on September 14 at Rice (Big 12 Now ESPN+); 6:30 p.m. October 4 at TCU (ESPN); and 9:15 p.m. on November 15 in Arizona (FS1).

Schedules for the remaining seven regular season games will be announced at a later date.

UH will enter its first season under coach Willie Fritz. The Cougars went 4-8 last season, their first in the Big 12.
