Details: Middleton, a pioneering mixed media artist who grew up amid the Harlem Renaissance and drew inspiration from his life in the Netherlands, will be the subject of a new exhibition at the Hammonds House Museum in the West End. The exhibition, which runs through August, will begin with an opening reception Friday evening. Enjoy small bites and music as you browse Middleton’s illuminated work.

Red Bull Dance Your Style National Final
When: May 17-18

Details: Atlanta will host the national finals of the Red Bull Street Dance Competition, featuring a showdown between sixteen finalists, some of the most talented street dancers in the country. The winner, decided by public vote, will go to the world finals in India later this year. There will also be dance workshops in multiple styles, open to all, as well as a performance by hip-hop icon Soulja Boy. This high-octane event is open to all ages, so bring even the littlest dancers.

Marietta Greek Festival

Details: Oops ! Enjoy all things Greek, including food, music, dance, faith, art and more food, at this popular annual festival hosted by the Greek Orthodox Church from Marietta. All three days feature a lineup of dance performances featuring traditional and contemporary Greek dance styles, as well as “learn to dance” classes open to anyone who wants to learn. There is also an artists’ market and tours of the beautiful Byzantine-style church. And of course, dishes to delight the senses: dolmades, spanakopita, baklava, souvlaki… . . you may need to return several days to enjoy the full menu.

Virginia-Highland Pigsty Festival

Details: The leafy Virginia-Highland neighborhood becomes the city’s liveliest outdoor festival for this one-day-only event. Dozens of bands will play live music from Virginia-Highland porches, many scattered along Barnett Street, Adair Avenue and surrounding streets. There’s also a Kids Corner play area, a costume-filled 1k Rock n’ Run, artist vendors, and food and drinks from local food trucks.

Independent Craft Experience Summer Market
