“Buffalo on the loose” near Ogdensburg, according to Waupaca Co. authorities.

WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – An unusual sighting of a wild animal has prompted the local sheriff’s office to issue a public warning.

A buffalo was spotted north of Ogdensburg, the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office announced in a Facebook post Monday.

Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling on area roads.

If you see the buffalo, the sheriff’s office says not to approach them because they are unpredictable and to report the location to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office at (715) 258-4466. Reference case number W24-07297.
