This weekend again we have a slight chance of seeing the Northern Lights in Western New York State.

Several storms emerged from the Sun this week, knocking down the southern limit of the northern lights in western New York state.

Here are some places to go for the best chance of seeing the Northern Lights in Western New York.

BENNETTE BEACH

Located directly on the shores of Lake Erie, when you arrive at Bennette Beach there are no artificial lights to interfere with your viewing of the Northern Lights.

OLCOTT BEACH

Another beach that offers stunning views of Lake Ontario. Head to this beach knowing that the view of the dark waters of Lake Ontario will give you a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

SENECA A TOWER

Yes, it is located in downtown Buffalo, but if you can get to one of the upper levels with windows overlooking Lake Erie, the light from the article will be below you and you will have a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

PORT FOR SMALL BOATS

Again, the artificial light would be behind you and the view of Lake Erie would give you enough dark space to see the Northern Lights.

ON LAKE ERIE AND LAKE ONTARIO

If you have a boat or a friend with a boat and don’t mind boating in the dark, heading out into the lake away from shore will give you a better chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
